After we receive your application, our committee will review it and contact you by social media, email, phone, or text to schedule a brief phone interview (20–45 minutes). This conversation helps us get to know you, discuss our dogs, and explain our process. Next, we’ll check your references and, if all looks good, arrange a home evaluation with a volunteer. Whenever possible, all household members (including pets) should be present. Once the home visit is complete, we’ll match your profile with available dogs and share the best fit.
Fostering & Adoption Fosters sign a Foster Release Agreement, outlining expectations and support provided by BTRM. Fostering is free—BTRM covers all medical care and training. Adopters begin as “Foster to Adopt” for a 30-day trial, completing both Foster and Adoption Agreements and submitting a $450 adoption donation. If the match works, the adoption is finalized. If not, the donation is refunded once the dog is transported to a new home. Transport & Arrival Transport is arranged after paperwork and may range from a short pickup to a multi-state volunteer relay. When your new bull terrier arrives, patience and structure are essential. These dogs need time to decompress and build trust before meeting new people or pets. We provide guidance for this transition. If you have questions, please contact us through our website or our Facebook page at Bull Terrier Rescue Mission, Inc.
